Bemov leaves its mark on the Central American and Caribbean Games BAQ 2018
Prior to the XXIII version of the Central American and Caribbean Games, the city of Barranquilla began an arduous remodeling and construction of the different sports venues that were the protagonists during the games.
Being a leading organization in the design and construction of recreational and sports venues, we had the opportunity to be part of the civil works, and to be suppliers of some projects, which allowed us to leave our mark on this great sports festival that took place between July and August 2018.
Scenarios such as the Romelio Martínez Soccer Stadium, the Edgar Rentería Baseball Stadium and Little League Baseball, the Racquetball Stadium at the District Racquet Park, the Softball Stadium and the Elías Chegwin Coliseum, were the projects in which we had great participation, thus being part of its history Do you want to know a little more about our role during the execution of the different projects? Romelio Martínez Soccer Stadium
We were part of the Temporary Union that worked hard on the remodeling of this stadium. The Romelio Martinez is reborn with a change of orientation north – south (the previous one was east – west), with a natural Bermuda 419 type pitch, required by FIFA and stands with numbered stands. It also has a LED lighting system of 1000 lux and a large 60m2 digital screen of the latest technology, of the same quality as the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and Times Square in New York, among others. It also has a press room, dressing rooms, a museum and 3 children’s play areas, located in outdoor areas for public use.
Edgar Rentería Baseball Stadium
For the reconstruction of the Edgar Rentería Baseball Stadium, formerly called Tomás Arrieta, we installed an imposing digital screen of 117m2 of 9mts high by 13mts wide, with the latest technology. We also supplied the entire LED lighting system. Thanks to these technologies, the “Diamante de Montecristo” is now catalogued as one of the best and most modern stadiums in Latin America.
Racquetball Stadium Set Cubillos
This work was executed 100% by Bemov (formerly Escenarios Deportivos S.A.S.), as part of a consortium in which Cotraing S.A.S. and Eduardo Hernández also took part. This stadium has a capacity for 268 people in fixed seating. It has four courts. One stadium type, with two 50% screen-printed glass panes. A semi-stadium type with one side in 50% silkscreen-printed glass. And two more practice courts with concrete sides. They are built according to IRF standards, both in terms of surface and height dimensions; also, they have a maple wood floor, type A grade, and a lighting level of 1000 LUX, with special lamps for the practice of this sport. It also has dressing rooms for players and judges, administrative offices, media center, doping rooms and a VIP area.
Edgardo Schemel Softball Stadium
With this scenario, softball takes a great impulse in our city, fulfilling the objective of the District Mayor’s Office in seeking to massify this discipline. For this project we installed the LED lighting system, as well as the supply and installation of synthetic sports turf in dogouts, bullpens and batting cages. It has a total capacity of 328 people in the main grandstand with ergonomic chairs, but the capacity can be expanded with the implementation of mobile bleachers.
Elías Chegwin Coliseum
This coliseum is the home of basketball in Barranquilla, so it needed to be remodeled to the standards required by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). For this sports center, we supplied and installed a 15m2 digital screen.
